You're facts are very very wrong. I'd like to see your sources.
Let's start by getting some terminology correct. Embryos are not implanted. They are transferred. The embryo is only placed in the uterus. This is very different from attached to the uterine wall. Once the embryo is in the uterus, it's up to the embryo to do the rest. There us a huge difference. I have used 4 frozen embryos. All 4 thawed with no damage. It depends on the stage on which it was frozen. Sometimes embryos are frozen too soon and in this case, it's impossible to say if it was a viable embryo. It's true, 1 in 4 embryos may not survive the whole freeze and thaw process, but it's not different than 1 in 4 pregnancies ending in a miscarriage. Also, most embryos are flash frozen, which is safer and prevents "damage." There are very few cases of embryos being misplaces or transferred to the wrong uterus. A few awful mistakes don't make the treatment wrong. There is absolutely no proof that children conceived via IFV are any more likely to have genetic disorders. IVF does not cause genetic disorders. If you are going to spew crap like this, at least have your facts straight and site your sources!
Not a single fact in this piece is "crap." Sources are linked in the article and most are actual IVF clinic websites or science news sites. Follow them and I think you will be surprised.
Researchers suspect that IVF cause problems with imprinting which is the cause of genetic disorders like Beckwith-Wiedmanns and Prader-Willi. Being conceived in a dish also causes changes in gene expression which no one knows whether it will cause problems later in life. Like I said follow the links. As for being lost or transferred to the wrong woman, I think any situation where your children are at risk of being lost, accidentally thrown in the trash, or accidentally transferred to the wrong mother is a situation not in their best interest. |
