Wow... talk about a perversion of scripture.
Besides the clear indication that personhood is recognized before birth ("before I formed you in the womb, I knew you"), the Biblical mandate to heal the sick is intended to be carried out NOT by human ability, but by the working of the Holy Spirit through believers. Not that medical advances are in any way un-Biblical, but to claim that ANY human method is the intended means to fulfill Christ's mandate to heal the sick is to usurp the role of the Spirit. In making this claim, is Neaves speaking from a religious or a scientific perspective? Both religion (Christianity) and science (biology, genetics, embryology) recognize the human embryo to be a human being. Christianity recognizes the "personhood" of the embryo, and science is unfit to make a determination for or against such recognition. |
