The cost for heart treatment at the XCell-Center is 11,500 Euros or roughly $17,000 US dollars - Not $100,000!
The price is listed here: http://www.xcell-center.com/treatments/diseases-treated/cardiovascular-diseases.aspx
According to the article, they want to raise $100,000 for airfare, accommodations and subsequent trips for follow ups.
If you're referring to the 'article' posted my Posted by Rebecca Taylor in Stem cells, Adult at 21:28 NOTHING is mentioned about $100,000 for airfare, accommodations and subsequent trips for follow ups.
Where did you get your information, Rebecca?
It says in the Western Front article 8th paragraph that his Cardiologist recommends $100,000 and in the 10th paragraph states that "The treatment alone costs $17,000 to $18,000. This does not include airfare, tests, follow-ups, etc. Erik Gelhar said he wants to raise enough in case he would need a second injection."
Thank you, Rebecca. I had not seen the 'Western Front' article. I would like to go to Germany for the procedure, but it's beyond my reach. I wish all the best for Jenn and Erik Gelhar.
I'm assuming it's not a short trip. There's the surgery and then recovery time. A couple of comments...
1) Is this a private research and service center? If so, how is it funded? There's a potentially interesting model for medical research and testing here... 2) How do German fertility doctors deal with the extra embryos created by fertility treatments? Here in the States, they're often simply disposed of, right? So how do they keep from running afoul of the law in Germany?
Sorry it took so long to reply. I have been trying to do some research. According to their website, X-Cell is a private clinic. I couldn't find any information on their funding other than the patients pay out of pocket for treatment.
As for the "extra embryos," in Germany no more than three embryos may be produced for each infertility treatment, and all three must be implanted into their mother. Extra embryos may not be produced or frozen; as a result, there are essentially no frozen embryos stored in German and fertility clinics. Canada and Italy have similar laws.
Germany does NOT work with human embryos.
They work with Adult Stem Cell Therapy. They take Adult Stem Cells from the bone marrow and insert them back where they are needed most according to the disease of the patient. (Heart, liver, brains etc.) If you want some documentation, let me know. Adult Stem Cells are your OWN so their will never be rejections. Using Adult Stem Cells is a much more powerful way of fighting auto immune disorders and/or degenerative diseases. If you cannot afford to go there, there is still hope for you. Try going on Alpha Lipid Colostrum stem cell enhancing products. They assist with the release of Stem Cells into the blood stream so they can do their repairing work. I hope there isn't something like an "agent" involved somewhere who will pick up $50,000 for it's services. Several of our members have undergone treatment in Germany but never paid more than AUD15,000 including travel and accommodation.
My understanding, from the relatively short distance of Leicester, England, suffering PD.
Charge £5000 3 - 4 day stay. However, money causually be raised if for a real purpose. Give my life back? Yes Yes! Trouble is, in Uk medic profession does nothing but sneer. C
